Mooch on Movies; The Haunted House of Horror.

I watched this film yesterday with C and the daddy human, it was something that he’d seen in the listings a couple of weeks ago in the middle of the night and had decided to record it to watch some time when there was nothing on.

Let’s just say it was, um, different.

By different I mean corny. Really, really, corny.

It was made in like 1969, which was a long, long time ago. A really, really, long time ago. The only people that I know who remember 1969 are old. Really, really old.

I kid, I kid! Actually I don’t, but on the off chance that my older humans see this, I had to say that.

The basis of the film is that there’s a bunch of teenagers, who don’t look at all like teenagers, in London who are at a party being thrown by this American dude with weird hair, it’s less than exciting there so when this weedy guy suggests that they go and explore this old “haunted” house they all agree that that sounds like fun and head over there.

One of the guys gets killed as they explore the house, they hide the body thinking that it was one of them that did it and they want to make sure that they’re not all blamed or something like that and then go about their lives as usual. Later this old guy that was pretty much stalking one of the girls goes to the old house to find something that she left there and he gets killed. Then the teenagers decide to go back to recreate the night of the murder to see if they can find out the truth of what really happened. Something, something, weedy guy turns out to be a psycho who’s scared of the dark and likes stabbing people, kills the American guy, causes one of the girls to fall down the stairs and then…

Yeah, just as it was getting to the part where the police showed up and we were wondering if the girl would survive, the recording ended! Can you believe that? I sat through an hour and a half’s worth of bad acting and ridiculously fake blood and I didn’t even get to see how it finished!

As for the horror part? I’ve seen scarier things in the salad drawer of the fridge.
